Panasonic announced the 3D Ready AG-HPD24 P2 Deck. It’s a half rack deck with native 24P recording, USB 3.0 Interface and HDMI Output. It features recording and playback in AVC-Intra 100/50 10-bit 4:2:2 video with variable frame rates and 24-bit, four-channel audio. Two AG-HPD24 decks can be synchronized to record isolated left/right channel streams, either from cameras mounted on a 3D rig or from the Panasonic AG-3DA1 dual-lens 3D camcorder. Two units can also be synchronized for full 3D HD-SDI or 3D HDMI playback. It should be available this summer with a tentative price of less than $6,000. Read the full press release.
